Jd has always liked nerds things. There was Star Trek, Star Wars, video games, comics, anime, books, art, science, and technology. In college, Jd was a writer, editor, and community organizer for Anime3000 and participated in Japan-U.S. exchanges. She earned her bachelor's degree in physical therapy and fine arts before working in Japan (not military) for 5 years as an English assistant language teacher in the JET Program. In her return to the U.S., Jd briefly worked for the Japanese Consulate in LA before working at MiraCosta College.

JahB Prescott is a full-time faculty member at MiraCosta Community College in the Letters Department. He teaches English 100 level courses for pre transfer students where he often incorporates graphic novels like the Jon Lewis March Trilogy and Artists Against Police Brutality: A Comic Book Anthology by Bill Campbell, Jason Rodriguez, and John Jennings. Professor Prescott is a Black nerd of the 90's with knowledge of all of subjects in the "multicultural-verse". He is a comic studies researcher and an advocate for how to utilize comics in the classroom.

Woodrow Jackson is a computer science major at MiraCosta College with a goal to become a software developer in the future. He is the first Black president of the Computer Science Club. Woodrow is also an avid anime watcher and manga reader, Jujutsu Kaisen and BEASTARS being two of his favorites.
